In today’s time getting # 1 page rank is not that easy and after those 39 updates including Penguin and Panda. Coming to # 1 page is like winning a war; here the importance of website design becomes handy. This is what I am going to discuss today, the importance of a website design from SEO point of view. It is always good to do your home work before going into battlefield. Yes, Internet is today’s battlefield where everyone is trying to attract more and more customers through every colored hat technique. So, here are some tips to apply to your website design or redesign:
1) Meta Description Tags and Title Tags: Add unique Meta description tags and title tags to the home page and every page of the site.
2) Content: Content of every page must be 40% different from every other page. It should be minimum of 200-250 words per page. Add one <h1> Meta tag for headline to each page and two <h2> Meta tags for homepage at least. Include key phrases and keywords in all header tags.
3) Navigation must be smooth. Avoid any broken link if it is there. Otherwise your visitor might jump-off from very first page just after few seconds. Try to avoid JavaScript or Flash navigation as search engine crawlers are not very friendly with these things.
4) There are a number of pages that must be there in every website like sitemap and FAQ page.
5) Streamline the code so that search engine crawlers can find and focus on the important information. Try to include the alternate text with images because spiders and bots use these <alt> texts to find search engine results.
6) Make social media buttons a bit large to encourage sharing because it will increase your site’s popularity.
I hope you have enjoyed this list! Apply these techniques to your website and please do share your views and comments to enhance the knowledge because sharing is always good. All comments are welcome always…:-):-):-)

Can lots of more inline CSS is acceptable? If yes then why? If No then also why?
ReplyDeleteHi Laxmi Narayan... thanks for reading my blog...
ReplyDeleteI would say more inline CSS is not good for webpage because it increases the HTML file size, poor accessibility and difficult code maintenance... Now I cannot show the example here since you can not paste HTML in comments...
